Cats have been incredible companions to so many for thousands of years. Their loyalty & companionship cannot be equaled for the cat lovers around the world.

When I was a child, I had a kitten, but due to flees, my parents insisted on giving my little pet away. I was so sad, but realized I had to wait until I was an adult to raise my own cats. Of course, I did indeed adopt many baby cats. One of which lived to be twenty, that was Carlie.

Carlie was a black beauty, green piercing eyes and a gentle grace about her. At the time, she had been my only child. So of course we were inseparable. She had given me so much love and my life really revolved around her & her care.

You do not realize at the time how much you need them, for me, I found Carlie in the woods. It was shortly after my father died, so it was a perfect time for me to nurture and receive so much love in return. Carlie passed at twenty but we had a great run together and she changed my life forever.

Within six months I felt the need to adopt another baby. So my husband & I started the search. One day I walked into Petco to prepare by buying all the paraphernalia needed to make a new kitten comfy! Well, that day was adoption day, so as you can imagine, I wanted every cat I met.

Quietly sleeping in the back of a small crate was the only one not yet adopted. I called for David to come into the store, and we met this beautiful tabby. My husband picked him up & instantly fell in love. Since he was found in the Bronx, we decided to name him Vinny, after my Dad, who also grew up in the Bronx. He was a great addition to our life and after a couple of years we wanted Vinny to have company so we began a search for a brother. Our Vet had a posting for kittens found in a backyard in the Bronx. We went immediately and adopted Louie, named after my Dad’s brother. Louie is a warm, gorgeous gray & white huge tabby, and the most affectionate of cats.
We are fortunate to have them in our lives, and feel that Vinny & Louie have extended my Mother’s life now that we all live together. They bring so much joy and can actually heal us if we let them.

So please be kind to our felines, keep them safe and adopt whenever possible. Remember, you are not only saving them, these precious cats will save you over & over.
